We explain features of Elastic Body AFM Simulator FemAFM in this page.
Click the following word "FemAFM" and you can jump to the web page explaining about calculation modes of the FemAFM solver.
AFM is simulated with an approximation of a tip and a sample by the model of continuout elastic medium.
Deformation of a tip and a sample is reproduced by solving elastic equations numerically under the assumption that
the tip and the sample are continuous elastic mediums of a single material respectively
and Van der Waals force interacts
between them.
Polymers, soft matters, organic compounds, metals, semiconductors, and inorganic compounds can be used as a sample.
Data representing a structure of a sample is needed on the simulations above.
Structure data of various proteins is provided by Protein Data Bank
http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/home/home.do
as files of the PDB form.
It is possible to simulate easily with files of them.
If you can't find a simulation for your purpose or can't understand how to prepare structure data for a sample, mail us by clicking the illustration below.
A symbol of a position where trouble occurs will be inserted into the subject of the mail.
