In this page, we suppose that the sample material is a high polymer or a soft matter.

Advantages of the LiqAFM are as follows:

The LiqAFM simulates AFM experiments in liquid environment.

The LiqAFM simulates oscillation of the cantilever in liquid and calculates its resonant frequency.

Considering adhesion between the tip and the sample material due to the viscoelasticity, the LiqAFM can calculate the AFM force curve.

The LiqAFM simulates dynamnics of the tip and the sample on a single point of the sample surface.
The LiqAFM cannot scan a certain area on the sample surface.

Thus, when you use the LiqAFM, you do not need to prepare structral data of the sample material.

Because the LiqAFM does not scan the whole surface of the sample material in liquid, it cannot generate an AFM image of the whole sample.

The LiqAFM simulates oscillation of the cantilever and adhesion between the tip and the sample material due to viscoelasticity on a single point of the sample surafce.
